ROI Breakdown: Leatherette Bottle Openers That Actually Make Money

Let’s talk real numbers and real profit — because pretty products are nice, but profitable products keep the lights on.

Today’s ROI spotlight is on one of my favorite fast-turn items: leatherette bottle openers.

These are the kind of blanks that:

✔️ have high perceived value
✔️ are easy to sell
✔️ and work for weddings, real estate, events, housewarming gifts, corporate gifting and much more.

The Cost & Sell Price

Blank cost: $2.70 each
Sell price: $15–$18 each
Engrave time: about 15 seconds (depending on your design)

Now… if you’re Speedy Gonzales, you could make 4 per minute 😆
But realistically, let’s say 3 per minute. (using a galvo laser)

That means you can produce:
👉 180 bottle openers per hour

Even before profit math, that’s solid production speed.

Profit Per Piece

If you sell them at $15:
$15 – $2.70 = $12.30 profit each

If you sell them at $18:
$18 – $2.70 = $15.30 profit each

That’s what I call a high ROI blank — fast to make and strong margin.
